Helping others through the proven methods of Alcoholics Anonymous is the cornerstone of the ARVAC Alcohol/Drug Recovery Program.
We believe that alcoholism is a disease and should be treated as such, and that drug addiction is a physical addiction coupled with a psychological escape from reality.
We believe that many people abuse the use of alcohol or other drugs because they provide them with a means of escape from an environment which they are unable to cope.
Counselors are trained to use the same treatment program for both alcohol and other drug addictions...12 Steps and 12 Traditions of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous.

We believe that the "Substance" Abuser is best treated in the context of "Total Family" and efforts are made to involve as many of the clients "Significant Others" (family, friends, etc.) as is necessary and practical.

We believe that our effort to restore the substance abuser to a level of physical and mental health that is an alcohol/drug free pattern of living, should be provided regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex or economic condition.

The A. A. Philosophy is used in the recovery and maintenance program. This is not to say we believe this is the only way, it has been suggested to be the most successful way.
